A talking zombie. Daniel never counted himself much of a fan of horror films, period, but he'd always thought the standard walking dead was what it said on the tin. And the entire time, this zombi- guy had been trying to communicate. For someone who prided himself on finding ways to communicate, Daniel was pretty sure he'd just failed spectacularly in this case.
So much for looking past appearances.
"It's um, it's okay," Daniel fumbled after a moment. Maybe not entirely. Waking up the way he had back then was still the stuff of nightmares, but he was pretty sure that over the course of the Arena, Daniel had done much worse to this Tribute. The guilt twisted even further in his stomach. Not only that, he'd actually needed help. "I'm sorry about kicking you. And what happened at the lake."
