"I know she doesn't. Everyone around her knows she doesn't, but she believes it. It's her piece of the human condition, as it were. We all feel at some point the need to scream at the universe that we have a purpose in being here, whether that's through producing art, furthering science, saving one person, murdering millions, or even simply literal screaming at the universe. Unfortunately, she feels it so strongly it's lead to her own detriment."

He eyes Phil, hoping he's not reading the depths of the man's affection as far deeper than they are. "Perhaps you can give her a reason to live, as opposed to a cause to die for."
