Everything's better with coffee
Who: Ermac and Signless
When: Just before the Crowning
What: Ermac isn't a fan of his fans, so he's hiding out in the District 12 Suite
Where: District 12 Suite
Warnings: Possible mentions of graphic violence
Ermac was lounging on one of the couches in the Suite, a fresh pot of coffee gently steaming on the table in front of him as he sits back and relaxes. He knows he should be training, but his brief venture outside had been unexpectedly taxing. He'd been told to expect fans, but he hadn't expected them to be so...enthusiastic. His training could wait until after he'd managed to ground himself again. For now, at least, there was coffee, and it was good quality coffee at that. His earnings had been good enough to allow him to buy his own stock. He's certain that everyone else in the suite must have caught its aroma by now, but there are only a handful of people he'd care to share his hard-won beverage with.

"Mind if I have a cup?" he asks by way of greeting. He looks perhaps a little harried himself: during the arena the media is a force to be reckoned with already, but after one there's always an added burst of activity. Recaps, interviews, questions about what he's planning to do to get Twelve another Victor next time, and of course taking care of his tributes in the aftermath of yet another emotional and physical roller-coaster.
"I've been meaning to have a talk with you anyway, just to touch base. Not that there's much to say -- you did, ah. You did very well for yourself."

Ermac gestures toward the still steaming pot.
"Indeed, we did. Although we must confess that we did not expect our...showmanship...to be met with such enthusiasm."
Such grisly kills were expected in Mortal Kombat, and of course they received praise and honour there. He'd been expecting that, not the horde of new fans following him in the street or the small swarm of Sponsors nearly starting a fight amongst themselves even as they tried to push their competitors' contracts out of the way.

"I ought to have warned you. The fans of the Games have a particular brand of fanaticism that can be ... surprising. The more gruesome your kills, the more they'll be falling over themselves in adoration. Probably why I was never terribly popular before I won."
