Altaïr's voice carried no exaggerated scorn, but the decisiveness of it was enough. Magic wasn't real, and that was that. This left only the fact that Linden probably lived up to his uncannily large eyes. Altaïr knew better than to ask the man to tell him things about himself. He might actually be perceptive and say things Altaïr didn't want the cameras to know. However, his curiosity remained piqued.

"Tell me more of this friend of yours. I have not met him here yet."

Linden reminded Altaïr of Assassin informants who would watch the streets endlessly and report what they knew to their rafiqs. Altaïr would like to know if he could be reporting things about him, and to whom.
