Nick can safely conclude for now that talking to this guy is like talking to an excitable puppy. If he had met him back where the dead were walking, he'd be suspicious. But either way, maybe it was simply a coping mechanism. Gary's a tribute too after all.
Nick doesn't flinch at the shoulder punch, though he does put his other hand over it mostly out of familiarity. Takes him back to times with friends that have since been long gone.
"Sure," he answers, earning Gary a smile from him. A sad one, but it was something. Maybe Gary's optimism is rubbing off on him already. "Listen, I could go for another drink." He gestures over to the bar. "Or a few shots. What'd you say?"
