Maxwell's relief is infectious. Something about Maxwell seems to glow, like he changes the air around him with his mood. Some people are just like that, Bayard knows. You want them to be happy because their own good humor amplifies that around them.

"Cotton candy?" Bayard's jaw drops a little. Unlike Maxwell, it's not an entirely new invention to him, but one that he's only heard of, never seen or tasted.
