Éowyn sighed, tucking her hair back behind her ears and looking down at the crab-thing. "If he is aught like the beasts I have known," she said at length, "then it would be best to ease him into it. He's bound to be skittish, if you thrust him so sharply into all this noise and excitement." She tries to refocus on the animal, to see it less as a threat and more as she would a horse or a hound. One gone wild, maybe, one that's run free too long. When she continues, her voice is firmer, more authoritative.

"Introduce him to a few people first, those who know how to deal with him and can stay calm, who won't be startled as I was. When he can deal with them, take him out in public. But first, find a way to block out some of the senses for him. With horses, we blinker them, with dogs, we carry something strong-scented to give them familiarity. I know not what his senses are, but something like that. It helps to dampen the shock. Stay close to him, and make your forays with him short to start with, and if he behaves well during them, reward him after." She looks down at the lusus again, then up at the Signless. "It may be that he will not be trained so easily, or by such methods as we use, for he is neither horse nor hound. But that is how I would do it."
