Were Jack another man, one who hadn't spent most of his life being selfish and deceitful and double-crossing people as much as the same people did it to him, he might've been among that group that held a grudge against the man. It was justifiable and even to be expected, after the gruesomely brutal spree that Nick had carried out -- and of course, once the Arena started again, the pirate would be sure to steer clear of him or keep a weather eye out for him.
But being so completely familiar and used to even his closest friends wanting -- and in one case, even accomplishing -- to kill him meant that it was easier for him to merely shrug it off.
"Aye, so I did. But I haven't." A short shrug and Jack takes a drink from his glass, then lifts it to briefly swish it. "Let's call it water under the bridge, aye? In such a situation as that, one had to do what it takes."
