Anna just shakes her head, Jolie's coy little jokes not getting far with her. She's confused, sure, but she's also a little hurt. "I--it just never occurred to me," she admits, cheeks coloring a little bit. She can't help feeling defensive. They just didn't talk about that kind of thing where she came from.

"I mean--she was talking about you, and I asked how, um, how she knew you," Anna goes on. "But--why didn't you say anything? Why didn't you tell me?" She's trying not to sound as hurt as she feels, because she wants to try and be adult about all this.
