Sam’s shaking his head before Bucky even finishes talking, hating the way his voice sounds right there. Hating that Sam had a part in making it sound like that.

He makes himself keep his hands where they are, palms flat, instead of curling his fingers into Bucky’s shirt again. He really shouldn’t be using that as some kind of stress ball substitute.
