"...I haven't exactly lived there," Stephen admitted. "If you want a clearer picture of what it's like to live in 6, you'll have to ask Linden. But I've visited it every year I've been an Escort, and it's the transportation center of Panem. It's where we make our trains and hovercraft, and..."

He trailed off, shaking his head and giving Phil a half-smile.

"...but that's not what you're asking, is it? You want to know about the people." He dropped some of the Capitol accent, and when he went on, it sounded less like he was reciting lines. It sounded more thoughtful. "Well...in my experience, the people of 6 are quiet. They have hollow cheeks and hollow eyes. It's dry, dusty -- not much rain, so they depend almost completely on the rations the Capitol distributes. And though they work hard, there's a substance abuse problem there. Out of the three Mentors I've worked with -- the ones native to Panem -- only one of them hasn't had addictions."
