She loved being doted upon and fawned over, naturally, but seeing the worry in Barbie's eyes chilled her to the core. He was scared for her; scared enough to put himself out there like this. And that scared her. Her gut reaction said she ought to keep up the facade and pretend nothing was amiss, but she knew he knew her too well. He'd seen her struggle, seen her rise to the top and watched helplessly as she'd fallen. There would be no hiding the truth from him now.
