At first, she didn't react at all, didn't stir, didn't change her breathing. There was nothing. Even her dreams were empty. But then somehow, someway, his voice broke through the vast blackness of her intoxicated slumber and grabbed enough of her attention that her eyes suddenly flashed open. Vision hazy, it took a moment of blinking before she could focus on Barbie's face. Slowly, lazily, she smiled.
