Sam's expression brightens a little when he sees Nick smile like that. It's why he started working at the VA, really, for the moment when he was able to give someone even just a little bit of hope - and he'd do a hell of a lot to put a real smile on a friend's face. "Any time, man, and I mean that. I know what it means having a friend who's willing to listen, you know? M'not saying you gotta spill your life story or anything, but you ever wanna talk, you know where I am."

There's a pause as he swallows the last spoonful of his soup, then he gives Nick a small smirk.

"And I know where you are, don't think you're gonna be able to avoid me stopping by again."
