Mission: Capitol Liberation

Who| Bucky Barnes, Enjolras, Joan Watson, Punchy, & Marius Pontmercy.
What| Liberation of the idiots.
Where| The Tribute Center
When| January 1st
Warnings/Notes| N/A

This leg of the mission would require more stealth and discretion than anything else. The team would go into the Capitol, making use of the smuggling method the rebels had established and make their way into the Tribute Center. Bucky, Enjolras, and Joan would be provided with elaborate disguises to aid in their infiltration if necessary, otherwise they would be very much on their own. The hovercraft couldn't wait around for them and they would have no back up in case something went wrong.

It wasn't until they were nearly to the Capitol that their targets were revealed. Punchy and Marius. Wait... Punchy and Marius?

Doubts as to their suitability as soldiers aside, the trio's mission was clear. They had to be in and out of there and at the rendezvous point before 2300. It was 0700 when they were dropped off. Plenty of time, right? Right?

"Me personally? Tactical and heavy weapons." He understands Bucky's meaning, if not his intent. "I'll be willing to work with you readily if you do this for me. It's my only condition."

And he considers it a fair one, considering the score of other people he would love to see rescued. Terezi, Delilah, Felicity, so many others who don't deserve this nightmare. Children, all of the children. It cuts at him internally to not ask for them at all, but...

Love gives him a certain priority structure, and Jet is at the top of it.

So he was remembering correctly. Albert Heinrich was one of those listed as 'potential tactical support.' They needed that. Jet Link or Heinrich or whatever was not on that list as far as he could remember. But maybe there was a chance he could swing this in Albert's favor after all, but he needed more information.

"I think it's a fair offer. But I need a little more. What about your husband, what was his role?"

"It's not an offer, it's a condition." He needs to make that perfectly clear. 13 doesn't have the same leverage as the Capitol has; if they don't do as he asks, he'll be much harder to work with.

"He was reconnaissance and point-man. We both have decades of field experience, especially in guerrilla warfare, working either alone or with a team."

Or not. He'd have to do his own research on the subject, but it sounded like Albert's husband was low priority, another soldier. Perhaps he'd be worth grabbing at a later date, but one of the few they would be able to grab next? Unlikely.

Still...Bucky could see a political moment when presented with it and he needed to think of District 13 and the rebellion, that was what was important here.

"Thank you. Alright, Heinrich, a condition. I'll put word to those who make the calls and see that your condition is met." For now, he still had a mission to ensure succeeded or he wouldn't be talking to anyone but Peacekeepers in the near future. "Was that all you wanted from me?"

Not really. He also wanted information, assurances, wanted to know that they are really on the same side here, but is it all he needed? Then yes. He shouldn't keep Bucky any longer from whatever mission he's here to complete. Time will tell what that entails, and perhaps it will answer some of Albert's questions regardless.

"Yes. Go on. I'll stay out here a bit longer to allay any suspicion that I wanted more than a cigarette and a friendly chat." He blows some of the nicotine through his teeth, hardly at ease but at least feeling as if there's some progress to be made.

He nodded and offered his hand, more for anyone potentially watching than to actually say good-bye. "A pleasure meeting you, I'm sure we'll be seeing more of each other soon."

Soon enough, at least, though who knew how that meeting might go depending on how the extraction went. But that was for another time. With a tip of his hat, he turned and wandered back into the Tribute Tower as though simply a Capitolite fishing for the attentions of any tribute he could.
