"From my reality, sort of. He isn't an offshot I didn't know about until now. He uh.." He pauses for a moment, wondering if it's worth explaining before he decides he might as well. If Albert understands multiple universes, to some extent, then time travel shouldn't be too hard to parse. "Where I come from, I'm a time traveler. I can hop timelines, no big deal. Basically he's me from a future where everything went to shit, so he came back to warn me and ended up staying because there was nothing to go back to." He never feels entirely satisfied with his summaries, but he'll leave it at that and hope Albert understands enough of what he means.

"I will undoubtedly enjoy your budding friendship tidings- that's my cue to open it, isn't it?" He raises a brow before setting his hands to work, pulling at the paper curiously. His eyes widen behind his shades when it becomes clearer what Albert got him. He can't help it, his first thought is a suspicious one before he dismisses it because it's fucking stupid.

"You didn't tell me you were buff Santa." Dave murmurs, shedding the present of it's wrapping so he can hold it up for inspection. Oh- shit. Say the thing, Dave. "Thanks, dude." There is a very notable amount of sincerity in his tone.
