The encouragement gives Carlos the push he needs to go on.

"I know I should have talked to Cecil about it before I did it," he sighs. "I'd considered the idea, but I thought I'd never do something that unethical. It was out of the question. But then, when I was actually dying...I really thought they wouldn't bring me back," he confesses. "Not unless I did something. So I said on camera that I was in love with Cecil Palmer."

He drops his face into a hand.

"The worst part was that he believed it. I had to tell him I had lied about it."

That had been one of the worst conversations Carlos had ever had. And he has had some pretty bad ones.
