Cautiously he sets a hand on Roland's chest, letting the other slide up to curl against the back of his neck. This time the uncertainty is less so because Roland is someone he's new to and more because everything else about them is so uncertain. Maybe he ought to try charting it out later. It never really worked for Karkat, but there's no harm in making an attempt.

"I'll show you."

He leans up, hesitates, and then closes the distance between their mouths. The kiss is soft, warm, and he hopes it communicates at least some of the things it's been so hard to get across with words. He does care for Roland. He does want to be close like they were before, more than anything, and if he had his way they would be. It's terrible having to avoid him and bury all that care under a mask of indifference because he can't express it in all the different ways he wants to. This is the one option left and he'll take it over nothing.
