Slumber Party

Who| All adult Tributes
What| Slumber party fun times!
Where| The common room
When| during the Chilren's arena
Warnings/Notes| For those who earn tickets, please see this thread to post who they send them too.

The Tributes are told to arrive back at the Tower by 4 o'Clock. Anyone not there by 5 will in fact find themselves nudged home by their friendly, neighborhood peace keepers.

Everyone finds a set of P.J.s on their bed, and although there isn't any particular theme to them, none of them fall under normal, and all lean towards the children's side of things. Footsie P.J's, knee length plaids in bright pink, polyester frilly princess night gowns. And although the night isn't saturated in it, pink and purple are solidly the color code of the night.

Once everyone had been dressed, even if it is by force, they are all hearded down to the common room, which has been decked out. Pillows are everywhere, and large chunks of the floor have been changed into giant beds. The whole room is geared just slightly larger, to give the tributes the subtle but inescapable feeling that they are smaller. Gauzy curtains separate areas of the room by activity, but most furniture has been removed, sans a few scant pieces left for party purposes. Each Tribute is passed over a bag, blues for the boys and pinks for the girls. Within are a selections of goodies-face masques, a small personalized blanket with their face printed on it, and a check list of the activities. For every activity completed you get 5 tickets to send to any kid in the arena, and for completing them all you get a 20 point bonus.

On one huge wall, the Children's arena is broadcast across the whole wall. No matter where you may be in the room, you can see this wall, and the majority of the pillows are gathered around to watch it. An avox near the side of the wall will take any earned tickets and get them to the Tribute of choice in the arena, who will receive it with their next ticketed activity. Directly across from it is a huge table, dripping with every variety of junk food. Pizza's are piled high, and whenever the pile runs low a "delivery" avox will bring more. Chips, soda, cookies, and even more hand made variety of junk food like buckeyes and pigs in a blanket are spread across the table. And there is always an avox near by to "spike" your pop.

Pillow Fight: A padded arena for two is set up, with pillow armor and stuffed weapons.

Make Overs: A small salon is set up, full of ridiculous supplies like wigs, tattoo stencils, and rainbow make up. Nothing is neutral here. There are no stylists however, just lots of their toys for the Tributes to play with.

Fashion Show: After your make over you can walk over to the dressing room, full of things that are all over sized. Shoes, dressed, boas, all made sized up as if the Tributes were children themselves. You must walk the fashion run way to get points.

Video Games: A whole gaming area is set up. However the only game is a fighting game programmed with all the Children Tributes as characters.

Cup Cake Decorating: Just about everything is here to decorate, including decadent things such as live flowers and real gems. Everyone is told they must submit a cupcake for judging, the winner gets 20 extra tickets.

Spin the Bottle: Much like the traditional game, except the bottle is full. Take a swig of whatever is in the bottle before you drink, and it makes you feel much better about having to play spin the bottle after just one shot.

Seven Minutes in Heaven: Two participants are chosen at random throughout the party and hurried into a large closet for 7 minutes "alone," which anyone outside the closet can see on the monitors on the wall behind the closet. Which your character may or may not have seen before being rushed in.

It really is time-consuming business, he’s discovering, and he has all the more respect for the level of commitment the women who do apply make-up have for this ritual. He keeps his eyes closed, eyes moving slightly under the lids, lashes stirring as she powders away at his face and more gingerly than he expects.

"Orange, I guess." Not even his favourite colour will be able to save him; there's no such thing as coming away from this looking anything but ridiculous, he's sure. But he's far from the only one and maybe in time - when Clementine and Beth were back and safe, or safer than they were out there - he'd laugh at the lengths he'd go for them.

Bruce lets out a noise that's suspiciously close to a laugh.

"Sounds like this will be a nail-biting competition. Let's see how much I remember from, what, five years ago?"

He sits down, picking up a cupcake before looking through the colors. Green is right out. Maybe blue would be nice.

"I'm drinking to hopefully forgetting this night ever happened."

Bruce gives Sam a wink, a bitter edge to the not-smile on his face before he knocks the drink back.

"And what about you? What are you drinking to?"

He just chuckles a little at her first comment, sliding his other arm around her so he can hold her a little closer. It’s without even thinking, really - he’s too far away from sober to worry about things like personal space with the people he considers friends. Especially not when it’s an excellent distraction from any darker thoughts. “Promise, there will be a sugar free tomorrow. Just hashbrowns and bread and bacon and maybe some vegetables, but only if they’re onions going in the potatoes.”

All right, now he’s just making himself hungry.

“No one,” he admits with a wry smile. “I skipped out on it, too.”

"I'll give you one pillow for all it," she says casually, looking at her nails. She doesn't want any of that shit, but she does want him to know that she's the winner here. And the best way to do that is to prove he's not worthy of more than one pillow.

"Did I just tell you I didn't want to hear about food?" She's teasing more than chiding, and she reaches up and taps his nose with her fingertip just so that's clear.

"We could play it now, if you wanted. I think they're still spinning...bottles..." Really, there's no clever innuendo to make there. She looks at his with big hazy doe eyes, and suddenly something in her is hinging on his answer. As if Sam's response now will be the definitive word on whether or not she's still desirable with her traitor mark strewn in scar tissue across her face.

She can take a hint, drunk as she is. "It's okay. If you don't want to talk about it you don't got to talk about it. Just be careful about keeping secrets here, the Capitol has some way of getting cameras back in our home timelines."

And she'll let it lie there. Her cat outfit is warm and soft. "Now I'm just a Tribute, killing people in the name of District Five, because- I don't know. Because better me than the kids they used to send."

"Time drags when spent in unwanted company."

She wondered idly if his charm had ever worked on any of the maidens in Asgard. Were there any who would perhaps have blushed and giggled at being locked in a closet with the younger prince with the expectation of kisses?

"And this is a remarkably stupid game."
tricksandmischief: (Almost laughter)

[personal profile] tricksandmischief 2014-11-23 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
That wasn't something he was about to reveal to her, even if she did ask.

"Do you expect anything more from the mortals here?" A mild insult, if anyone outside were to notice. He still wasn't aware how closely they were being monitored.
fiercestwarrior: (sass)

[personal profile] fiercestwarrior 2014-11-23 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Actually, yes. Scome of them are quite clever."

Some of them she might call friend. Some of them she would much prefer to be locked in a closet with over Loki, though that probably goes without saying.
tricksandmischief: (Really now)

[personal profile] tricksandmischief 2014-11-23 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course I am sure some of them are cleverer than you or your expectations," Loki said back.

He did think Sif was intelligent but he also did think he was far more intelligent than any of them - and that they didn't appreciate it, so he had to get some mocking in somewhere. They'd mocked and disrespected him and his skills often enough, thinking themselves amusing and better than him. Sif, The Warriors Three, and even Thor. The bitterness still hung about him.

Sam wrinkles his nose at her a little, but shuts up about the food.

His immediate response to that is to lean in to kiss her. It's not exactly chaste, but it is close-mouthed, gentle and affectionate. He pulls away pretty quick, smiling at her. "There's an app for that, but seeing as the Capitol took away my phone, I just went ahead and decided the bottle landed on you."

It occurs to him only then, to wonder if he'd read things a little off, and hope he didn't just do something really stupid. More stupid than laying one on a drunk friend when you were almost as drunk, anyway.

"To have something to look at other than what's considered entertainment over there."

He gives an echo of Bruce's smile back at him, tipping the shot down as well.

"But I like yours, I could drink to that, too."

"Perhaps my vision is better than it ought to be." Maybe he's just seeing things, making assumptions based on Carlos' character. With the way he reacts, it seems all too likely that he is blushing and he's trying to cover it up by being factual.

"Better still.." He trails off, reaching out to press the back of his hand against Carlos' cheek to test the temperature. It certainly feels warm, but not terribly hot. Of course, he won't say that. "Are you running a fever, then?" He asks with a light chuckle. Not this time, science.

She, in Thor's mind, is not the one who ought to be carrying the blame here. He feels a fool himself, to know her vulnerable feelings and not be strong enough to ease them rather than intensify them. Not when he's in a state of mind like this, not when he has Jane at home. His aren't the actions of a good man, it insults someone like Sif to handle this so clumsily.

"A dangerous question." He lifts his mouth into a small smirk, feeling himself ease a little more. "I suppose you've begun to see that tact is not much of a commodity here." He quirks his brow upward, addressing the fact that he feels damn awkward.

"Passably.." He murmurs under his breath, as if he objects so much that he needs to vocalize it without wanting to seem too affronted by it. At Loki's words, his mouth pulls into an unimpressed frown and he gives him a dull look.

"We'll not leave without some initiation. Such is the nature of this place." He says, not without a stern lilt to his voice. "But I'd sooner die." He isn't dramatic at all.
tricksandmischief: (Sincerity not)

[personal profile] tricksandmischief 2014-11-23 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Loki makes his own dramatic gesture, putting a hand over his heart.

"You injure me, Thor, you truly do. I am wounded that you find me so unappealing that you would welcome death so readily."

Then he shrugs. "But so be it. We shall now call this the kiss or kill game, shall we?"

He isn't sure he isn't being sated by her in some vague attempt to make up for the comment, but he'll look appreciative anyway. He nods, almost sternly, glad to know that she's seen the light. The light is his cupcake. His cupcake is wonderful.

"I should hope children aren't coerced into closets for the amusement of others." He says blandly, moving to sit when he's granted the good pleasure of doing so. "I suppose it's no worse than sending them off to die, either." But that's a grim subject that he shouldn't have breached.

"What inspired them?" He nods toward the cupcakes, trying to gauge the theme.

If there's anything Thor has become used to here, it's looking ridiculous. He's always been one to stick out, gallivanting around Midgard in cape and armor, he supposes being half naked with ridiculous footwear is just thematically accurate for this place. He'd have preferred whatever it is she's wearing, but he's not uncomfortable.

Of course, he takes himself very seriously regardless of what he wears.

"Nor am I." Who knew. "I've not seen a clip such as this before. If I wanted it out of my face, I'd braid it." He says plainly, as if there's nothing weird about a grown man who braids his hair.

"You don't know me?" He quirks a brow. "Thor? God of Thunder? Not at all?" He seems puzzled, but he shrugs it off. "I command thunder and lightning with my hammer."

Aye. [His nerves are not nearly in the state that Bilbo's are. It only makes him want to seem calmer when he notes how terribly nervous the little one seems to be. Little indeed, he'd have to sit for them to kiss at all. Doing so seems presumptuous, so he remains stood up for the moment.]

Better here than the Arena. [He says plainly.] You'll grow accustomed to the madness, soon enough. Or you'll go mad yourself. [But something in his voice says he won't let that happen.] It is entertainment they desire, I can only imagine they see this as amusing.

"I do so with good intentions." He says, almost defensively. "I'd sooner die than see you as anything but my brother." He adds, as if that really salvages the situation.

"You would do well not to encourage my stubborn ways." He scoffs, hesitating a moment before stepping forward. "Surely it warrants no more than a kiss to the cheek?" The gesture is nothing to Thor, but now he's overthinking it.
tricksandmischief: (Chuckling)

[personal profile] tricksandmischief 2014-11-23 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"You would do that?" Loki chuckles, raising his eyebrows then shaking his finger at him. "Ah, no, I think... the forehead would be more appropriate."

He grins, half expecting him to not go through with it either way. Such affectionate gestures between family were not too unusual but it had been a while since they had been so comfortable in each other's presence.

That Thor even still considered them brothers, though, gave Loki more mixed feelings but he didn't press that particular issue right now.

If Sam is looking for people who have had a little something to drink, he ought to look no further than Thor. Really, a little doesn't quite cut it here. He's still getting used to being mortal, alcohol is a powerful mistress when he doesn't have his resilience. He's chugged more than a few of those cups, but he came into this party looking like a half-dressed, drunk slob.

He sees Sam and begins approaching him purely because he's seen Steve and others treat him favorably. He had half a mind to stand by him and talk, but he winds up thudding down into a chair that protests the sudden heave of godly weight.

"We ought to be friends." He says suddenly, his thin filter pretty much evaporated thanks to the drinks. He considers it for a moment before piping up. "I know Steve." He adds. "And. The others." There's a lot of them. "Thor." He finishes with his trademark smile.

[The last time Bilbo was shoved into a small closet with another person (Hobbit) was when he was a blushing tween, faces hot from stolen mead and curiosities burning hotter.

That was a long time ago now. As familiar as this is surely not...

Bilbo shuffles awkwardly, looking up at Thor who might as be one of those towering buildings outside.]
What sort of... of entertainment are they looking for? I can't imagine this being anything but comical. [And humiliating.]

He's heard that. He doesn't exactly believe it, because a) it makes no sense, and b) if they could, wouldn't they have better things to do with the technology? Interdimensional time travel for the express purpose of harassing the people they've kidnapped -- it's stupid. (Brock theorizes it's more along the lines of recording their memories of events, which at least makes sense.) Still, she's letting it go, so he does, too.

"They're still sending kids," Brock says in the most gentle tones he can muster; he doesn't really want her to buy into the propaganda that they're somehow indispensable just because they're not from here. "It's easier for them to dehumanize us this way, but don't you believe it for a second."
