The nudge at his chin pulls another smile out of Carlos -- it appears on his face without his permission, it has that quirk of the lips to it that marks it as irrepressible -- it is as impossible to be truly sad when Thor is trying to cheer you up, Carlos decides, as it is when a puppy is. When Carlos meets Thor's eyes again, it's obvious he's feeling better: whatever Thor did, it worked.
"Thanks," he says; his voice is lighter, easier. "I really appreciate it. I'm sorry -- I didn't bring you out here to talk about my problems." Carlos laughs, a little embarrassed.
