There was something fairly warm about the girl's presence. Maybe it was the way she seemed to smile so easily amongst a place where everyone was always so tense, for good reason, almost afraid to have high spirits. But seeing that positive energy here made it a little easier for her to smile a bit herself.

"Thank you," she nods, accepting the food. "I'm Astrid. I haven't really been here very long myself."

She breaks off a piece of the bread, examining it for a moment before placing it into her mouth. After a few chews, her face lights up. "T-This is really good!" Definitely not like the stale kind her village was used to.
