Astrid listened carefully to the explanation, although she had heard the general explanation some hours earlier from the escort of her district, it felt a lot more real, more disturbing, hearing it from Hiccup. Before, it hadn't even really registered that fight to the death had indeed been literal. Despite her frustrations, she's coming to realize that maybe some people had actually been even worse off than they were right now.
