Entertainment. The closest thing she could compare this to was the Thawfest Games back on Berk. It had several events that took place where they'd compete, testing out strength, agility, skills, dragon training abilities, and so forth. But the games were always friendly--for the most part, not counting the heavy sense of competition and taunting that occurred throughout--and they were all in good Viking fun, and of course, never to the death.
Even if it was far more serious, that was the best comparison she could make though it didn't have much effect in calming her nerves.

She felt a bit guilty for throwing all her questions on the girl, considering it wasn't the happiest of topics.
