"It never is," he says quietly. No part of it is. The part where you keep going after the people you love are gone. The part where you give up pieces of your conscience, your humanity, for the sake of staying alive another day.

But the other thing isn't easy, either. Laying down and dying.

"You should watch some of the arena footage, if you can," he says finally. "It's good to know what everyone's like - who might help you, and who to avoid."
