"That was what I meant," she said, smiling back. She was different, this one: much smarter than some of the women she'd met, somehow she could see her being some kind of quick strategist given the right circumstance. Mindy was,m in her mind, evaluating the strength and weaknesses of the tributes here. The more the punishments rained down, the more Mindy saw the inevitability of a struggle as a reality.

"Not everyone is able to deal in the Arena. I can at least show them how to handle a weapon, or how to hold something that will help them when a fight is going down. Not in me to just let people go without any kind of aid. I'd want the same myself, if I came here with no training."
