[Clementine finds out that Steve is out of the arena pretty soon after she comes down off the roof, her head feeling a lot clearer for the fresh air. The screens are doing highlights of deaths so far and she see's... well, there's no need to linger on the details.

It's easy to go up to District 9 past 6 and knock on the door. Far more appealing than going back to her own empty room. She wants to check on her friends and be amongst company rather than alone with her thoughts. It's not just Steve she knows here either, there's Dave who's also out of the arena by now.]

Harley decided to show off with a graceful flip backwards through the air. The pillows whizzed past her as she was airborn and she grinned despite herself. Laughing out loud when one of the pillows skidded across the dining area table and knocked over a centerpiece into a bowl of fruit which sent the round food flying.

Landing on her hands she rolled to the floor and sat up with a pillow in hand only in time to get clobbered by one of Clem's pillows finding it's mark directly on her face.

"Kamikaze!!" Mindy yelled, running from her hiding place and launching and offensive on Clementine just as she was taking in a victory over Harley. She went straight for the girl, pummeling quickly, ignoring Harley for the moment.

Don't we all?

Harley waved a hand dismissively.

"Like you care what other people think. And it's not like you gotta take it to a gross level. Just find someone a year or two near you and cuddle and smooch. It worked for those girls from District 12 and people love them. They got T-shirts and everything."

"I don't care, I just don't like people talking abut me period. It's annoying. Bad enough I get all this attention being one of the youngest."

She laughed. "Right, me, the viper? Who the hell is going to be cuddling up and smooching my ass?"

"You're hardly a viper." Harley corrected her tapping her on the nose. "You're more like a badger. And I never said smooching your ass that goes back to you being worried about coming off as weird. But I bet you'd be a great cuddler if you found the right person." Here Harley planted a hand on Mindy's head and tousled her hair.

"Ya gotta do something to keep yourself entertained around here."

"Well you would know better than anybody. I think I did wind up falling asleep on you a month back." She hadn't remembered much about that day, but it had been good to have Harley around. She'd been pretty comforting for once.

"Wait, a fucking badger? Seriously? What the hell do they do?"

That earned Mindy a wicked grin from Harley.

"Badgers may look like some kinda cross breed between a dog, a cat a bear and a skunk, but they're like one of the biggest bads in the forest. Nobody messes with badgers. Not snakes or foxes or even dogs. Badgers are content to do their own thing but if you cross their lines they'll rip you to pieces." She explained.

"I guess you'd know then. You know I'm a city girl so I don't know shit about animals like that. It does sound like me here, though. If I was free to do whatever the hell I wanted, I'd be more like a wolverine."

No relation to the comic book character of course.

If Harley knew of wolverine she might comment that Mindy really is like a short, hairy, Canadian in a young girls body. But that's a joke for another universe. In the mean time she just offers her thumbs up.

"Whatever animal gets you through the woods. I prefer monkeys and dogs myself. Loyal and fun loving. They can still mess you up but it's funnier when a monkey does it."

Mindy would likely have not known how to take being compared to a overplayed guy with a short fuse, but hell, at least it was more original than comparing her to Punisher.

"I'm more of a cat person myself. They're chill and quiet, then you cross them and their claws come out and they rip you to fucking shreds."

"Uh huh, you sure it's not just because cats are more independent and capable of taking care of themselves?" Harley teased "Or perhaps it's because cats always act so aloof and proud that they can pretend they don't actually have all those soft squishy feelings that get in the way of being a bad ass hunter."

The parallels were a little uncanny.

"That pretty much goes without saying," Mindy said, rolling her eyes. "One of the best things about cats is that they can be all domestic and sweet, and go and cut out something's throat with the span of a few seconds. Dogs, you train them to be nice, they're nice, and they'll bite the shit out of someone hurting you. Cats, they make do."

Just like her. Lovely.

"But yeah, that last part too."

Harley chuckled and brought a hand up to pet the top of Mindy's head.

"Good kitty. Go enjoy the Slumber party."

"Purr," she said said to Harley, giving the girl a wink.

"You know, with training I could totally be the next Catwoman. What do you think?"

Harley considered it for a moment and shook her head.

"Nah, you like guns too much and you don't care about sparkly shiny baubles. You could fake it for awhile but the spirit of the thing would be off."

Not a bad thing really, just being objective for a change.

Mindy groaned, but she had a point. She didn't like to steal stuff so much as she liked blowing shit up anyway.

"Well damn. Out of curiosity, who AM I more like, back where you're from?"

[Steve is glad the other two want to join in, he thinks it'll be good for Clem to have people closer to her age hanging out with them. Besides, they all could probably use a break from the arena and what they went through, have a little fun. Detox in a positive way.

Elsa's enthusiasm gets a smile out of him.]

The linen closet is full of blankets and sheets, we raid that and grab every pillow we can carry from our rooms and we should be set to start building. [If everyone agrees, he'll head off to his room to start the gathering of the pillows and raiding of the closet.]

[Clementine's happy to have a project to work on, something to keep her attention away from what she went through, what they all went through. She's on Steve's heels to the closet, grabbing as big a pile as she can manage and carting it back to put down on the coffee table.]

How do we start?

"Ah!" Clementine has to hold up a pillow as a shield, backing away and laughing, blocking the worst of Mindy's pillow barrage until she hits the couch and falls onto it. "Whoa!"

[Dave gives them a thumbs up, but he'll let them raid the closet. In the meantime, he'll zip into the kitchen for a massive bottle of soda and a packet of chips that he lovingly presses into Elsa's arms before he throws himself onto the couch.]

You start with a base and you work yourself up. [He gestures vaguely upward.] Like with a couch or something, generally. A load bearing couch so you can drape the blankets over it and make it all space camp.

Harley had to consider this for a moment running through a long list of heroes and villains in her memory. Some she had encountered personally, some she'd only heard of.

"Maybe the newest Robin. He's pretty brutal, I hear he uses a sword and only avoids killing people because he's devoted to Bats. I guess you could be a pretty good league of assassins brat. They don't care much for guns either."

"Aw you gonna let her get away with that kid?" Harley teased as she lunged into the pile and dragged Mindy off her. "Come on peaches, get her while I've got her held!" cheering on the underdog while keeping Mindy in a firm wrestling hold.

[hit_girl_mindy]

"Robin? Ergh. I mean, maybe the Miller version before he went nuts, maybe? That girl Carrie or whatever. That could work."

Who was new Robin these days anyway?

"Yeah, but you know not caring for guns is a no-no for me, right Harls?"

[hit_girl_mindy]

"No way Harley, that's fucking cheating!" Mindy protested, laughing. OK, so Harley had definitely gotten the drop on her, and while she probably could break out of the hold, she found she really didn't want to. What would be the point?

"No one said we couldn't work in teams!" she grins, pushing herself back up and approaching with solemn dignity, which breaks as she raises up the pillow and brings it down on Mindy's head, not too hard. "Got you!"
