The TV in their suite is constantly playing something about the new arena. And it seems to always be focused on one of the District 5 members. Diana's sure how much longer she can take trying to walk through to the kitchen only to be blindsided by sideburns. God forbid Han's won this, she's not sure how'd she handle them being on the main story for a whole month. Sighing, she sits down, placing her very large smoothie on a coaster and begins peeling apart her orange. Please let the camera switch to Venus soon.

She lounges on her bed, stomach pressed against the ludicrously soft bedding, swiping her finger lazily across a tablet screen as her feet bump her ankles together lightly in the air along with some music she has playing. Her hand reaches for one of the already half empty two bowls beside her, pulling out a sliced grape and dipping it generously into some yoghurt, popping it into her mouth and licking her fingers clean before swiping the screen again. A notification pops up about the arena, someone's death. She ignores it, pretends not to see, goes back to swiping.

At the cafe she sits, brow furrowed at the cup infront of her, loaded up to the brim with extra milk and sugar. She takes a sip and pulls a face. They offer to replace it. She declines. She'd made it like this. Picking apart her oversized muffin she tries attempts to bypass the drinks taste by dipping the pieces fluffy sponge into the hot liquid before eating them. This is workable.

"Madame?" Eponine cuts a gaunt figure, even dressed in the skater style dress and tights her stylists were so fond of putting her in. But her cheeks are still hollow, her eyes still quite lifeless, and with her shaved head, she looks, frankly, quite ill. But she's not ill in the slightest, and when she smiles, she shows off the shiny, false teeth that look so out of pplace against her greyish complexion.

But Eponine doesn't seem to care, and she smiles anyway.

"I thought, perhaps, that they'd kept you dead, Madame. But no - here, you are as alive as I am."

Diana looks up from her coffee to smirk.

"Keep me dead? That would be a bit harsh, I've been nothing but a good girl."

She gestures to a free chair on her table. "Love the hair. Fringe going back out of style? It's hard to keep up sometimes."

"Don't matter to them, Madame. I were bad, and yet, here it is so." She said, as she took herseat. She ran her hand agsinst the bristles of her hair, and sighed ruefully.

"Madame Jessica shaved my head. She said my hair were too badly damaged. I don't like this though, Madame."

Enjolras keeps his head down as he moves through the suite, purposefully avoiding chancing a glance up at the screens. He doesn't need to watch his friends die again, doesn't need to fuel the powerlessness feeling that eats at him most days. They'll tell him if anything happens to Venus or Courfeyrac anyway, and they'll take pleasure in it when they do. Until then, he can avoid it all, or at least try to.

It's because of this fixation with not fixating that he almost misses her. He's grabbed one of his apples, preparing to retreat again to his room that still smells of wine and has one of Venus' sweatshirts draped over the back of the chair. Instead, he stumbles unceremoniously into her. "Forgive me, mademoiselle, my head is no where today."

Diana shrugs. "I'm sure you can pull it off. But we can go shopping for some hats if you want?"

She chews the inside of her cheek in thought. "Actually, you'd look cute in a hat."

Diana arches her eyebrows and smirks. "Looks like it was nearly in my chest to me."

Popping a segment of orange into her mouth, she asks. "Not watching the big event?"

Training room, where else?

Mindy is taking another swim. It's quickly become one of her favorite past times, from testing how many laps she could swim in the amount of time she gave herself, to her free time where she could just float blissfully along, shutting out the rest of the world. If anyone was coming, for the moment she couldn't hear them, remaining safely in a place in her mind, outside the Capitol.

There's a sudden splash and the disruption in the water ripples out from the impact point.

Diana comes back up for air, brushing her now wet hair out of her face and swims to the side of the pool.

Mindy was rudely pushed out of Fuck You Land, opening her eyes and turning to see who was that went and bothered her.

"Damn. Just when I thought I was alone..."

[orestes]

"No, I do not much see the point." He declines to comment on her innuendo. It could have been innocent enough, but too much time spent amongst Capitolites has him concerned otherwise and it's best never to entertain that sort of thing. "Someone will win, the rest will die, and we will continue in our subjugation. If the Victor thinks he is buying his freedom, he will be disappointed."

It's a grim outlook, but at least Enjolras is telling it how it is. In his humble opinion, too many of the other mentors motivate their Tributes under false pretense. It's disgusting.

Diana stop adjusting the cups of her swimsuit and turns to smirk at Mindy.

"Oh, hey, it's our favorite little winner."

Azula was of course watching the arena and that meant being in close proximity to Diana.

"Look at that fool. She's completely out of her mind." She gestured to the screen where Susannah...or her other personality Detta Walker had just set an entire section of the maze on fire despite her partner Harley Quinn still being in the danger zone.

And the scary looking black woman was laughing all the while as the blond one screamed and dumped water on herself to try and avoid death by fireball.

"This should go without saying, but until we understand what it is that brings out the violent side of her, you should avoid that one." She added to Diana before picking up a cookie to nibble on.

Mindy cracked a smile. "The day I turn out to be anyone's favorite will be a pretty sad day. You're from Azula's district, Diana, right? I remember you because watching what happened Arena before mine shocked me. I kinda have a bias with Azula, on account of the whole bitch snapping me leg off. Grudges, what can you do? But you got pretty far in the last one too."

"Well, aren't you just a bowl of sunshine and rainbows?" Diana rolled her eyes.

"Look, maybe keep your apathetic views on us all killing each other to yourself? Because I don't want the big bosses in charge thinking people are getting bored and making things worse." She points at him accusingly. "Because I tell you now, I'll be blaming you during the waterboarding."

If Diana had rolled her eyes any harder, they'd have hurt. "Well, gee, you really think so?"

She makes some grand gestures with her hands to add to the effect of her acting. "Hold on, let me just make a note of that because, who knows, I might forget that subtle hint."

Diana raised her brow at Mindys willingness to sent information just streaming her way. "Well, what can I say? I seem to have a lucky streak going on."

She pouted, but there was amusement twinkling in her eyes. "Aww, you don't get along with my Zula? That's a shame."

Azula allowed the sarcasm to wash over her, "Well I did say it should go without saying. But I've found that if I just expect all of you to do what makes sense to me it doesn't always happen. So I am not making an assumptions even if I know how smart you actually are."

After all Diana had proven herself particularly adept at staying out of harms way so far.

Diana suddenly sits up, familiar smirk on her face. She leans towards Azula a little. "Are you saying I don't listen to you?"

Azula stiffened but tried not to take her eyes off the screen.

"You listen to what you choose to listen to. And even if you hear the things I say you may not always follow my direction."

Only then did she turn her head just slightly to look at Diana.

"But you listen to me more then most of the tributes in this district. That's why I prefer your company."

When you had that much time to stare at videos, might as well talk about it.

"We run into each other more than we like. Apparently she can;t understand why I don't like her."

Diana's eyes flash for a moment. "It's nice to be wanted."

Then she leans the rest of the way and eats the last of Azula's cookie right out of her hand.

She starts to move calmly through the water.

"But Azula is so much fun. You can't really hold a grudge for people trying to kill you in this place. It'd get pretty old fast."

Mindy similarly matched her, doing a backstroke.

"It's not about the leg thing, even though I remember it. I mean, she hates me for obviously more reasons than taking her eye. Nah. It's more what she is that irks me, not what she did."

She wouldn't argue that Azula was fun though. In her warped, twisted way, she actually was.

Diana suddenly giggled and extended a long leg out of the water. "You mean a monster?"

She brought the leg down with a splash. "Hate to break it to you sweetheart, but that's all of us in a nutshell."

"No, no. First of all, we're not all monsters. Some of us are fucking idiots who can't bear to kill anyone, so there's your fodder. Some of us are idealistic pussies, so we refuse to give in to anything and it winds up hurting other mentors. My problem with Azula is that she acts in the interest of the Capitol, and makes that her priority. call me crazy, but my heart doesn't exactly get warm thinking about them."

She ducked underwater, then came up.
