"Huh? Oh that." Harley reacted sharply as if she hadn't brought it up and was surprised to hear about it.

"It's a long story, but the short version is that little french girl Eponine hates herself, and my pal Homura agitated Eponine by trying to help her. Eponine killed Homura and then felt guilty about it so when Eponine came home to the Capitol she trashed Homura's room and stole her cat. Well I couldn't very well let someone bully my pal like that could I?"

Of course some still reasoned she took her punishment too far. But as far as Harley was concerned, Eponine hadn't learned a thing so she hadn't taken it far enough.
