Nasir was tense and his expression harsh but it changed as soon as it was apparent that Enjolras was looking at him. He stood still. Perhaps that gave something of him away-- the way he only moved to blink. This was a man used to concealing his emotions. Yet, at Enjolras's last words Nasir's mask gave way: first to a smile and then a laugh.

"And if my intentions are to take the lives of all who would oppress us? Would you brand me animal then for fighting for a cause and freeing slaves from shackle?"
