He had an intensity and singleness of purpose that seemed to adhere itself to any study almost codependently. He was, frankly, uncomfortable without a project, and if training in the pursuit of helping his friends could be that project, if only for a while, then so be it.

"There are other methods than fighting. You should know how to defend yourself, but just as essential as combat is knowing how to avoid exposure."
