Gabriel walked down the hallway in a huff, his mood terribly deflated and he didn't like that one bit either. He was just beginning to feel really tired and the human side of fatigue hadn't even begun to kick in yet.
He felt like a cat being forced to take a bath.
What made things worse was the creepy guy that was too cool to speak to him and look at him at the same time. He was like one of those guys in the movies that were too cool to look directly at explosions. Or they thought they were too cool. Gabriel viewed them as being full of shit.
So, that element compounded with the fact that this guy seemed incredibly confident in a place where people kill each other for sport made Gabriel halt and do a double take to make sure that, no, it's not his brother.
"Since I'm the only guy in the room, I'm gonna give you some leeway and assume you're talking to me and not a window."
