So I set out across that way to strike them down, to make them pay

Who| Initiate + Sam & Tony. Initiate + Signless & Psiioniic.
What| The Initiate has gained some information. It's time to bring plans to fruition. But first he needs people.
Where| A capitol alley bindspot.
When| After speaking with Sigma, post-arena.
WARNINGS| Language.

He walked out the tower that morning, face bright, hopeful. He walked with body loose, mind mulling over idle simple things, only the barest trace of nerves underneath. He returns different.

When he comes back his spine is straight, shoulders back, wild hair still long and so cascading down. Each step is measured and his chin is lifted. He looks calm, right up until his fists curled tight and the ways his eyes blaze red.

He reaches them separate, calling them to meet him at different times. There is murder on his face and not a smile to be seen, until he says with all teeth, "He'd like us getting a meet on. MAYBE GET OUR MOTHERFUCKING CHILL REAL NICELIKE. Think as he and we could be about getting better knowing this motherfucking way. PLACE OUTERWAYS WHAT TO BE AT, BROTHER. He'd not be motherfucking late, were he you." He gives the time, and a tense goodbye, all without single chance of speakings otherwise. He would not be placated.

Sam would bring Tony. Signless would bring the Psiioniic. Two separate meetings. Two fail safes.  At least one of them would offer what all he needs. He waits in alley, with graffiti painted bright as to mark their security there. His back is to the wall as he waits for his arrivals, hands opening and closing in want of clubs. Or maybe an enemy. It's been long since he felt like this

It's been a long while since the Signless has seen him like this. Not that he ever thought that murder that lurked in the Initiate's eyes waiting for an excuse to show itself was ever really gone, just that he'd grown better at leashing it. That's why he doesn't protest now. He knows that whatever his moirail wants him and the Psiioniic for, it's serious.

He finds the alley with little trouble, yellowblood in tow. The graffiti is noted and his lip twitches just slightly. This is every bit as serious as he assumed it was, then.

"We're here."

Psii trusted Signless with his life, but not necessarily with making good life decisions. Psii had followed him easily enough here, unsuspecting of the cause because they could not talk freely. But he halted at the alley's entrance when he saw that Initiate's eyes were filled with bloodlust.

This is fine. It's okay, things are going to be okay. Psii fought down the tug of panic and threw a questioning look at Signless.

"Are you thure thith ithn't about the other day? Becauthe I am all about talking out grievantheth, but I am altho all about keeping my limbth."

Shit, bad turn of phrase, given events in the last arena. Oh well. Initiate should know by now that Psii had a shitty, morbid sense of humor. Right now though, Psii wasn't smiling. Outside the Tower was a great place to carry on with something clandestine, like a secret murder. Psii was aware that Initiate had some tenuous hold onto old feelings about past-future-him, as well as an attachment to Signless. But Psii was also instinctively and habitually afraid of a highblood who looked murderous.

Ah. Well, the Signless can't say he hadn't expected this. If the rebellion needs anything after Brainiac's very unfortunate execution, it's people with absolutely terrifying technological ability. That's something the Psiioniic has an over-abundance of, and on top of that he's guaranteed to be interested in a rebellion. He followed Signless around on Alternia, didn't he? The Initiate has made a good choice. Even if the Psiioniic doesn't trust him personally, the rebellion at large is something he'll most likely want to be a part of.

"If it changes your opinion any," he offers, "I am already part of this rebellion. I have been for a very long time."

"Of courthe."

He only said this once, but he was replying to both Initiate and Signless. Of course he wanted to join. Of course he thought Signless might have been a part of it. His face hardened into impassive stone, a subconscious reaction to being in danger but needing to talk clearly. His instinct was to dissemble like this, especially in front of a highblood, even if Initiate knew so much about him even before he arrived. Psii didn't have that layer of bullshit to hide behind. He was being recruited. He stepped closer.

"You already know what I've done on Alternia. That should be anthwer enough. But give me the detailth, and I'll tell you if thith ith a dumbath plan that'll get uth all culled. You deliberately put Kankri in danger, you get too murder-happy to think thtraight, and all betth are off."

Psii was hoping that the deal he made when he met Initiate for the first time would never need to be put into motion. So far, he thought of it less and less. He'd even started to believe that Initiate truly wanted to preserve their lives, even at great personal cost, whatever his reasons might be. Then something like this came up, and suddenly all the chips were on the table. A test.

It occurs to the Signless that the Psiioniic doesn't know about District Three. He doesn't know, not really, what this kind of weapon is capable of or that the Capitol has already demonstrated that they won't hesitate to make use of them. It also occurs to him that he doesn't want his friend to have to learn the hard way.

"He's right. On our own we'll be crushed. We need the Districts, particularly Thirteen, to still be alive and well enough to fight when the time for fighting comes. If the Capitol has the ability to wipe them all off the map the moment they start looking like threats then we won't have a chance."

Not that he trusts District Thirteen, but that's mostly because he knows very little about it beyond it having the same goal as the Capitol-side rebellion. There is still and always will be strength in numbers.

Psii hated the way the clown knew him so well, knew how Signless's inner circle, his family, would stick by him until the end. Psii tasted bitterness in his mouth, but the chips fell in such a way that Psii had little choice. As predicted, he wasn't going to make a fuss. Better to start working out a plan sooner than later.

"I'll thtill be watching you. Don't do anything thtupid. Both of you."

He was going to keep admonishing people not to be idiots as long as he lived.

"Tho we're bathically fucked into doing thith. Great. Jutht great. Which of my thkillth do you need, and where? I doubt I can phythically get into a military fathility with my dashing good lookth."

"He'd like you to try to create a secure place over the network where only those we trust can communicate with each other freely," Signless explains. Not that he thinks the Initiate wasn't perfectly clear, but he knows that the indigo's particular poetic way of speaking takes time to learn.

"Before we found these blind spots, nearly all of our planning was done over secure partially-anonymous text forums. If we hadn't had those at our disposal the rebellion effort would be much more stunted than it is right now, but without Lonestar we haven't been able to access them or anything similar to them for quite some time."

Brainiac, unmasked as the hacker Lonestar on public television, had been shot in the head on the steps of the Tower. Lost his head up a little. What a poor choice of words, but Psii couldn't judge. To cope, he had made dark jokes about people slipping on his blood on their way out of the Tower.

"I know what he thaid," Psii said testily, fidgeting and flexing his fingers. He doubted they could stand and talk here forever. The sooner plans were made, the better. Initiate's grin had unsettled him, made him more watchful. Someone had to be.

"Thith whole thing ith thtupid. No need to add to it by being reckleth. Even if my codeth are ironclad—which they are—there'th thtill the matter of me getting private acceth to the hardware I need. In cathe you didn't notithe, privathy ithn't really a thing here."

He ran a nervous hand through his hair, inadvertently making it stick up.

"I can't do a rush job, thinthe that code would identify me eventually. To cover my trackth, I'd need more than jutht a few hourth. Betht cathe thenario: multiple computerth able to connect to the network or networkth I need to hack, in multiple locationth in the city. I'll need thome thpare memory driveth, and a meanth to dethtroy them later. A cover for me traveling to thethe locationth regularly, like a job, a party, or thmuggling me in a vehicle. Caffeinated beverageth."

He was sure he'd think of more things he'd like to have later.

"I can. I've stated publicly that I consider this my home and that I intend to stay. It would naturally follow that I would want to conform more to the Capitolite lifestyle, and that would include Capitolite creature comforts and technology. I could even be your vehicle to other parts of the city under the guise of friendly outings."

If his job comes down to being an alibi he'll be okay with that. It's something he's suited to and he's not going to turn it down just because it's not terribly glorious.

"Caffeinated beverages I can also provide."

"If I can go platheth in plain thight with you ath an alibi, I might even be able to fetch my own caffeinated beverageth. Maybe." He gave a smirk that said he'd totally make Signless get them anyway. The prospect of that lifted his spirits considerably. "But in all theriouthneth, you'll be uthing your blabbing thkillth to pretherve my life inthtead of endanger it, tho thankth for that."

They could even dodge cameras at night and say they were just trying to avoid paparazzi while on a midnight stroll. Trolls could see better than humans in the darkest corners.

"I can give equipment thpecth now if we have time. But later, we can thtage a converthation back at the Tower about the thame thing. Come up to me and tell me you're looking for theveral high-end gaming rigth tho you can have a LAN party. Your nerdy bee friend loveth and mitheth computer gaming (a fact), and you want to know why I can't jutht make do with the shitty conthole we've got in front of the gandertube (are you fucking theriouth). No one will athk why we thuddenly have a bunch of hardware if we go shopping for computerth together. Even if we can't get everything we need by ourthelveth, we'll be theen going platheth and purchathing thupplieth for legitimate reathonth."

He neglected to mention that he'd be making fun of Signless's inferior knowledge of tech all the way.

"And don't forget, analog wayth of communicating thypherth thtill exthitht. Get a few people working at publishing, and I think we can hide keyth and pathwordth in magazineth if you haven't done tho already. I'm not going to pretend that the digital medium will alwayth be open to uth, and I'd like to have a reathon to read thothe ragth other than following the latetht theorieth on what troll bulgeth look like."
